Silence

Journal Entry: Thu May 8, 2014, 7:17 PM
Ok, just thought I would mention that my premium membership is about to expire and I plan on letting it until DA has their renewal sale again to buy one, give one free.
I have a couple of people in mind that I would like to bless with a premium membership and see no sense in renewing mine until then.
They are people I know who are gifted and contribute their talents here where as all I do is make comments and fave others works.
I'll still have my messages and fave and save what comes thru, but have no problem doing so while "dealing" with the ads.
Plus, anyone watching me won't have to deal with my useless journals and polls. I've had more votes on the comic con poll than I've had in quite a while. I've only had about 5 people make a comment on any of my journals even when encouraged to do so. Oh well.
I will not ask someone to give points or anything to extend my premium in any way, shape, or form. There are other more deserving folks that deserve it. check my "friends" list and you'll see some.
I'll post one last poll for now and when DA offers their special, I'll renew my premium.
Till then, you get to enjoy the Silence!!

And your a doll!!! I just went thru the journals skins a few years ago and found this and another one.
I'm just a fan and supporter of people like yourself. Just figure I'm gonna wait till DA has another sale and bless a few at the same time.;)

Well, I'm sorry that you'll have to have ads on your page when you look at things, but I'm sure you'll get used to it. I mean hey, it's not that bad. I live with it all the time! ;)

Yeah, I won't mind it now since I have a faster internet. When I first got on here, I had dial-up!!! Talk about slow and annoying :giggle:
It'll be fine for now.

yeah, talk about change of times. Heck, I'm so behind in technology I have an LG cell phone with the keyboard style buttons to text thru Tracfone. I don't have one of those fancy smart phones. Don't fall out of your chair laughing too hard!!!
Now if I have any phone or internet problems I'll just contact you for help so I can hear" thank you for calling tech support. How may I help you??" :giggle:

Uh oh...I think I have just been voluntold that I'm someone's tech support. :D

Trust me, you are not as far behind the technology curve as you might think. Once, when I worked at Circuit City...(this has been a while back...probably...14 years ago?) this little old lady comes in to purchase a computer in order to be able to hook it up to a sewing machine that can have patterns inputted into it. So I set her up, looking at the specs of the sewing machine, getting her the cables she needs in order to hook it up, etc., then give her my card so she can call me if she has any other questions.

Sure enough the next day I get a call transferred to me and it's her. She tells me that the computer is not working, that it's frozen up. So, before writing up a service ticket to have them go out and take a look, I go over the setup of the computer with her. Things like, is your monitor plugged in and turned on...is the computer plugged in and turned on...that kind of thing. When I got to the part about asking her what was on her screen, it sounded like it was on and working, so I asked her to move her mouse. She tells me she didn't receive a mouse. I say, "You didn't receive a oblong device with two buttons on it and a long cord that attaches to the back of your computer like the keyboard?" She says, "Oh! You mean the foot peddle!" :o So I say, "Yes ma'am...the foot peddle. Is that down under the desk right now?" She says, "Yes" So I tell her, "Could you put your foot on that and move it around a bit to see what it does, if anything?" So she moves it with her foot and the arrow moves and she says, "Oh you've fixed it! Thank you so much!" So I say to her, "Yes ma'am. That's the mouse. It uses a little ball inside it to make that arrow on your screen move. You can also put it up on your desk and use your hand and it's a bit easier to handle, but whatever is easiest for you, and what you are used to is best. Is there anything else I can help you with today?" And she got very quiet, and said, "No thank you, that will be all for today. Thank for your help." So I told her to call back if she needed anything else, which she did, but that's another story.

Point is...yeah...lot of other people out there that are not tech savy. Be happy you are as savy as you are. :D

:wow: I know being from Oklahoma like we are it's not bad being a little "backwoods" minded, but using the mouse as a foot peddle???? I bet her husband really loved her when they were younger!!!!
Yeah, I can say I upgraded from the corded keyboard and mouse to the wireless version. Matter of fact, 5-6 years ago I went to a garage sale and got my Microsoft ergonomic keyboard with mouse, both wireless with sensor, for $10!! Yeah, talk about the savings
That's a freaking hilarious story, Kai!!!
By the way, I hope you have a very Happy Mother's Day!!!:blowkiss:
Hope you get to be with all the kids and enjoy it to the fullest!!

Thanks! We'll be heading over to my parents house and grilling brats and smoked sausage. (Maybe some hot dogs for Victoria. ;) )

I've found that I don't like the wireless stuff as much as a good reliable corded laser mouse. However, it's becoming harder and harder to find them it seems. Currently I'm saving up for a drawing pad to help with my artwork. (Light pen with sensitive pad) so I can draw pixel by pixel. That will help with my touch up work quite a bit.
